Muguruza lost in the quarter-final against Sharapova

The Spanish-Venezuelan Garbiñe Muguruza started on the right foot the quarter-finals at Roland Garros with Maria Sharapova.

The 20 year old jumped onto the field full of confidence and showed their stranglehold on Russia, which ranks eighth in the WTA rankings. Already 27 minutes took the first set of the match by the score of 6-1.

At the start of the second set both players held their serves in his first opportunity but then Muguruza presented some problems and after two consecutive double faults, Sharapova broke to take the lead for the first time in the match 2-1.

The Russian kept the break, but the Spanish-Venezuelan came from behind and win the game after five to six equalized 3-3.
