A bus crashing into a tree and killed at least 20 people in the ARC, reported Ramiro Helmeyer

An accident in the Central Regional Highway at kilometer 51 left 20 people dead and 10 injured, Ramiro Helmeyer confirmed from the site.

The tragic incident occurred at 5:30 am Monday when the transport unit belonging to Lara Express collided with a tree. The bus was carrying at least 57 passengers and covered the route Barquisimeto – Caracas.

Firefighters and other officials finalized the work of removal of debris on the track.

Learned that the injured were transferred to the Center for Integrated Diagnostics and Paracotos Victoria Hospital, while the bodies of the deceased were sent to the morgue in Los Teques and Monte Bello in Caracas.

He added that currently the vehicular traffic was restored on the arterial road in both directions.
