Leader of the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo finds his grandson disappeared in Argentina 35 years ago

The president of the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo, the agency looking for abducted children during the last military dictatorship in Argentina, found his grandson after 35 years of searching, his son said Tuesday.

«I did not want to die without embrace,» said Estela de Carlotto in a press conference, adding that «I found what I looked for (…) It’s beautiful, is an artist and I sought.»

«The whole story not know yet, we are going to build, we have to be cautious because this is very hard for one person, although wait,» Carlotto said.

The military dictatorship that ruled the country between 1976 and 1983, kidnapped, tortured and murdered about 30,000 people-mostly political activists and workers, according to human rights organizations. In many cases, illegally appropriated repressors of the children of the victims, as happened with Carlotto.

«It is good, my nephew have found after 35 years,» he told the television Argentina Guido Carlotto, son of Estela de Carlotto and young guy named, who voluntarily submitted to blood tests done to determine his identity.

According to local media the young lives in the city of Olavarria, in the center of Buenos Aires province, about 350 kilometers from the capital of Argentina.

The Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo and managed to identify more than 110 missing children by appropriate members of the dictatorship.

«I will keep fighting, now it was my turn,» Carlotto said.
